ELIGIBILITY:
All items offered for sale and showcased must be created by YOU, the artist, artisan or craftsperson.
Any items derived from kit work, wholesale, commercially purchased/manufactured products, or items that are in direct conflict with copyright infringement, will not be allowed.
SELECTION:
APPLICATIONS ARE JURIED and CURATED based on the originality, quality and craftmanship of the product you intend to sell.
Applicants who focus on one main product category may receive preference over applicants having multiple product lines.
Limits are imposed in categories to make for a varied and diverse shopping experience.
BIO:
Keep your artist statement - fresh and current.
Pack as much punch as you can into about 150 words to tell us what makes your product different - what drives you to create your designs.
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION:
Tell us about your awesome products and the items you intend to have on display at the retail shop.
If you produce multiple product lines (other than what's been selected as your main product category), please let us know as limits are imposed in categories.
PHOTOGRAPHS:
Focus on photos! THESE ARE YOUR BEST PHOTOS! Since we won't be seeing your goods in person when the application is reviewed, your photos must be clear, crisp and in focus and show a good representation of the items you intend to display at the shop.
Think of your photos as your storefront. These product images are your "calling card" that we will use to promote your handmade goods at the shop. Be creative and use a consistent background without obstructions (ONLY YOUR PRODUCT) and don't forget an image of your display set-up. We want to see what you're all about, so please send high resolution photos and not thumbnails.
In order for your application to be curated, we require a submission of: 5 digital images of your work and 1 digital image of your display set-up. Please identify each photo clearly as to what it is - WITH A PRODUCT NAME - representing the "CURRENT" range of work that you intend to have on display. (No thumbnail photos! JPG photo format - 300 dpi - not smaller than 1500 pixels and not larger than 4000 pixels in dimension. Maximum file size per image 20MB.)
PRESENTATION:
The professionalism and creativity of your display is a consideration in our applicant selection and helps us to determine placement
in the shop.
SOCIAL MEDIA AND PROMOTION:
Mistletoe Magic will extensively promote the Holiday POP-IN Retail Shop - including each artisan involved in this venture via advertising and social media campaigns. It is beneficial that applicants have at least one social platform or website for self and cross-promotion!
Sharing on Social Media, personal/business pages is a MUST!!! as we expect artisans curated into the holiday market to actively promote their storefront and socially share Mistletoe Magic's information to help raise customer awareness, having more customers visit the shop.
RETAIL SPACE FEES:
Rental Space is $105. inclusive
•Each artisan will have an equal size space - 6 ft wide x 3 ft deep table OR grid/racks space - and must stay within the allotted space
•Spaces and wall displays are available on a first come first serve basis
•Artisans to bring their OWN display setup including table or grid/racks, skirting, lighting, etc
•Artisans responsible to setup their storefront, with tables pleasantly decorated, displaying your products as creatively as you can with your business signage, business cards and rack cards and other show stopping or on-line ordering information for residual business
•Show Organizers will be manning the Mistletoe Magic Holiday POP-IN Retail Shop (Mon-Sat from 10-5 starting Nov 12 to Dec 12)
•Artisans will not be present at their space - only to setup the first week of November and teardown on the 3rd week of December (with designated times given at a later date)
•Artisans will be notified to restock product when necessary
•A commission of 20% (+ Debit/Credit fees) on sales will be collected
•Each artisan will be provided with a contract, an inventory sheet and an artisan code
•All items must clearly indicate your artisan code and sale price (price to include any applicable provincial/federal taxes) and placed where it is easy to read and find (the less handling and searching the better!)
•Artisan is responsible for applicable permits, product labels, health and safety designations, etc (as indicated in the Pop-In Retail Shop Contract)
•Products are to comply with all applicable Government regulations (e.g. Upholstery and Stuffed Articles Act, etc.)
•Bags will be provided by Mistletoe Magic
•We will be providing a raffle prize to help raise funds for our charity of choice, Fixed Fur Life - a donation to a gift basket is much appreciated
•All COVID protocols will be in place!
Masks required, sanitizer upon entry, social distancing signs on floor, max # of people allowed with safety and well being a top priority.
ACCEPTANCE:
Accepted artisans will be sent the Mistletoe Magic Pop-In Retail Shop contract with shop conditions/information by Monday, October 12, 2020. Please completed and return promptly with e-transfer payment by FRIDAY, OCTOBER 16 in order to secure your space.
Failure to submit the retail space fee by October 16 will result in loss of space - with space given to next available artisan on the wait-list.

Note: once you have completed the application ----> PLEASE BE PATIENT! Remain on the application page after hitting the Submit Button - it will appear that the screen is doing nothing, but it is!
It will take some time for your info and photos to download to us!
When done, the application screen will disappear and you will see a confirmation page saying your application has been received.
