ACCEPTANCE CRITERIA
This is an on-line application process where we're looking to curate a magical festive market showcasing a diverse collection of handmade products in all artistic mediums. It is important that you READ the following information before clicking on the apply link to submit your application. NOTE: INCOMPLETE APPLICATIONS WILL NOT BE JURIED (Accepted artisans will be contacted by email should a space become available in their product category.) |
ELIGIBILITY
All items offered for sale and showcased must be created by YOU, the artist, artisan or craftsperson. Artisan must be of legal age.
Any items derived from kit work, wholesale, commercially purchased/manufactured products, or items that are in direct conflict with copyright infringement will not be allowed.
SELECTION
APPLICATIONS ARE JURIED and CURATED based on the originality, quality and craftmanship of the product you intend to sell.
Applicants who focus on one main product category may receive preference over applicants having multiple product lines.
Limits are imposed in categories to make for a varied and diverse shopping experience.
Incomplete applications will not be curated - be sure to submit the necessary information and photos required for this process.
ARTISAN BRAND/PRODUCT STATEMENT
We require an artisan bio focusing on your product/brand statement to use when promoting your products on social media.
Keep your brand/product statement fresh and current!
Pack as much punch as you can into about 200 words (2 to 3 sentences) to tell us:
- What makes your brand and products different?
- What is your product created or made to do?
- Why your product stands out from the rest?
- Why do customers need your product?
- Who your product benefits (all ages, kids, keeps pets warm, original, healthy, gluten-free, all-natural, etc.) and why?
PRODUCT LIST
List the product category and items you intend to have on display and sell at the show.
If you produce multiple product lines (other than what's been selected as your main product category), please let us know as limits are imposed in categories.
PRODUCT IMAGES
FOCUS ON PHOTOS! THESE PHOTOS ARE YOUR CURRENT DESIGNS! THESE ARE YOUR BEST PHOTOS!
Since we won't be seeing your creations in person when jurying your application, the photos you submit must be
clear, crisp and in focus and show a good representation of the product line that you intend to sell at the festive market.
Your photos are your storefront! Photos are your "calling card" that we will use to promote your designs at the show.
Be creative! Use a consistent background without obstructions (close-up images of your products are preferred!)
We will also require an image of your display set-up for jurying and placement purposes if accepted into the show.

IN ORDER FOR YOUR APPLICATION TO BE JURIED, we will require a submission of:
4 IMAGES OF YOUR WORK and 1 IMAGE OF YOUR DISPLAY SET-UP.
Identify each photo as to what it is (with a product name - ie: necklace.jpg, etc) representing the "CURRENT" range of work that you intend to sell.
Submit high resolution photos only and not thumbnail photos - PNG or JPG photo format (300 dpi) - not smaller than 1500 pixels and not larger than 4000 pixels in dimension.
NOTE: the maximum file size (per image) to submit is 20MB - anything over this size will not download (see notes on the application page.)
DISPLAY IMAGE & PRESENTATION
Submit a display photo that will reflect the available space!
The professionalism, creativity and aesthetic of your display set-up is a consideration in our applicant selection and the image you submit helps us to determine placement in the show.
SOCIAL MEDIA AND ARTISAN PROMOTION
Mistletoe Magic extensively promotes the event and artisans involved in the festive market through advertising, promotion and social media campaigns. It is necessary for all applicants to have at least one social media account for self- and cross-promotion of Mistletoe Magic's Facebook and Instagram posts within their own creative communities. This helps to raise greater public awareness and that of your attendance at the show.
EXHIBIT SPACE & FEES
DISPLAY SPACE - $95.00 inclusive
Artisans will have ONE equal size SINGLE SPACE with a maximum, overall footprint of 6ft wide x 5ft deep to showcase in, either:
Option 1: to display collection ON a 6ft wide x 3ft deep TABLE with 2ft depth for a chair
...or...
Option 2: to display collection WITHIN a 6ft wide x 5ft deep DISPLAY SPACE (with free-standing grid/racks/chairs - footprint to include all necessary display items)
Artisans are required to bring their own display set-up including table and/or grid/racks, skirting, lighting, etc
as TABLE / DISPLAYS ARE NOT PROVIDED. Two chairs will be provided per space.
Artisan (or approved representative) to be in attendance the day of the show.
Display set-ups will take place the day before the show.
Any COVID-19 policies that may be in place at the time of the event will be adhered to.
IMPORTANT
Been there, done that? Participated in our shows before? We know each other - always keep in mind that the jury (and customers) want to see what you've been up to: new products, new photos, an updated artisan statement!
Please keep in mind that previous participation in any of our WeCreate artisan events (The Mother of all Craft Shows or Mistletoe Magic) does not guarantee or imply acceptance in to the current Mistletoe Magic Artisan Show.
Each show is juried and curated as a NEW SHOW due to the large number of submissions received and the spaces available at the venue.
Exhibitors are required to submit an item for raffle in accordance with Mistletoe Magic Artisan Show guidelines.
Artisans are responsible for applicable permits, product labels, health and safety designations, sales and tax collection, liability and property insurance.
Only complete applications, including 4 NEW product images AND your DISPLAY SET-UP image, will be considered, even if you have participated in our past shows. Please send all info by the submission deadline for your application to be included in the jurying process.
WHAT HAPPENS IF ACCEPTED
Accepted exhibitors will be sent a show contract including show conditions and information once a space has become available in their category. This show contract is to be completed and returned by the date indicated with e-transfer payment in order to secure your space. Failure to submit your show fee by the date indicated will result in loss of space - sorry, no exceptions - due to the show's popularity and extensive wait list.
